Kompas 1 Net- Komnas HAM statement regarding South Africa’s lawsuit against Israel over alleged genocide in Gaza, Palestine.
Komnas HAM received an urgent appeal from the Palestinian Human Rights Commission through the Asia Pacific Forum for National Human Rights Institution (APF), which iscoalition of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRI) in the Asia Pacific, to support the legal efforts undertaken by South Africa at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in Hague over allegations of Genocide by Israel in Gaza Palestine.
The trial of South Africa’s legal action against Israel which is suspected of committing genocide in Gaza Palestine will begin January 11, 2024.
Based on this, Komnas HAM stated the following:
1. Support South Africa’s legal action against Israel at the ICJ for alleged genocide in Gaza, Palestine
2. Encourage the Indonesian government to intervene at the ICJ by supporting South Africa’s legal efforts at the ICJ over the alleged genocide committed by Israel in Gaza, Palestine.
